Hot on the heels of the iPad mini's Oct. 23 launch, China maker GooApple announced the November release of the GooPad mini, its 8in tablet PC.
First reported by Gizmochina, the GooPad mini has specifications comparable to the iPad mini.
With these features and an iOS 6-like iLaunch skin, techies are dubbing the Android 4.1-powered device an iPad mini clone.
The GooPad mini, however, is taking a remarkably different pricing route, promising to bring more bang for the gadget lover's buck. Tagged at $99, it is a mere third of the price of the iPad mini, and roughly half the $199 going rate for the Kindle Fire HD and Nexus 7, practically signaling China's entry into the mini tablet price war.
And by launching the GooPad mini in November, GooAple has gained the inside track on Christmas sales, what with the iPad mini not available in China, at least officially, until December at the earliest.
