- DESCRIPTION: Global Sources Electronics Design Awards recognize new electronic products developed by Greater China and Asia suppliers with vision. These products offer unique features through creative application of emerging technology. They are also the result of innovative manufacturing processes and creative marketing strategies, which ensure their success in the global marketplace
- HOW TO ENTER: Submit your products to Global Sources Electronics Design Awards by completing the entry form online at www.globalsources.com/elecawards.
Provide clear and complete details in ENGLISH to enable judges to make a proper decision on your entry.
Official entries for the award categories shall come directly from companies themselves.
All required information must be provided in order for the submission to be valid. Required fields are noted on the entry form.
Entries will be accepted from 2011 (Hong Kong Time) through 11:59pm of August 5, 2011 (Hong Kong Time).
You may enter as many products and as many categories as you like. Multiple entries for the same category will be judged separately.
In entering your company's products, you hereby represent and warrant that you are duly authorized to do so on behalf of your company, and that your company shall also be bound by these rules and regulations.
- ELIGIBILITY: This contest is open to exhibitors of China Sourcing Fair: Electronics & Components, China Sourcing Fair: Security Products and China Sourcing Fair: Solar & Energy Saving Products for October 2011 with four (4) booths or more.
Global Sources may in its sole discretion require all winners to certify in writing that they have complied with these eligibility requirements, and any incomplete or incorrect entries shall be disregarded and/or disqualified. Global Sources reserves the right to post your entry in a showcase if in its sole discretion it deems it worthy of showcasing. Employees of Global Sources, its parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, agencies and assigns, and their immediate family members (spouse and parents, children and siblings, and their spouses) as well as individuals living in the same household of each are not eligible. The contest is subject to all applicable laws and regulations in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
- CATEGORIES AND CRITERIA: Winners will be selected from each of the following product categories:
- Consumer Electronics
- Computer and Networking products
- Telecom and Wireless products
- Security Products
- Solar & Energy Saving products
Winners and runners-up will be selected based on the following criteria:
- Technical design (i.e. hardware and software design - originality, technology, components, development, enabled features, hardware/software co-design, R&D process)
- Features and functionality (i.e. uniqueness, innovation, usability, relevance of feature-set)
- Visual appeal (i.e. creativity, ergonomics, housing, attractiveness)
- Commercial success (i.e. commercial value, product concept, marketing strategy and partnerships, sales strategy and channels, pricing strategy)
The weighting for each criterion varies per product category.
- JUDGING: Based on the criteria set forth above, a panel comprised of senior Global Sources editors will shortlist the entries and select three (3) finalists per category.
All winners will be presented at the China Sourcing Fair in Hong Kong.
The judges' decisions are final, and no further queries or disputes shall be entertained.
The above dates are subject to change, with or without any notice whatsoever by Global Sources.
- AWARDS: Winners will be posted on the Global Sources Electronics Design Awards website at www.globalsources.com/elecawards on October 11, 2011. In addition to the title, winners will receive a trophy and will also be displayed alongside runners-up products at the New Products Gallery of China Sourcing Fair from October 12 to 15, 2011.
In addition, they will receive editorial coverage in Global Sources Computer Products, Global Sources Electronics, Global Sources Security Products and Global Sources Telecom Products.
Expenses for attending China Sourcing Fair are the responsibility of the winners.
The above dates are subject to change, with or without any notice whatsoever by Global Sources.
- CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION: By entering, participants (i) agree to be bound by these Official Rules and (ii) grant Global Sources a royalty-free, non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide license to use and publicly display their entries for all advertising and marketing purposes, including promoting its web sites, products and services. Accordingly, no confidential information should be included in any entry. Submissions remain the property of the entrants; however, by entering, entrants consent to the use of their name and likeness for advertising, promotional and/or marketing purposes without additional compensation. By entering, participants release and hold harmless Global Sources, its parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees and agents from any and all liability or injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with participation in this contest.
- Global Sources is not responsible for incorrect or inaccurate entry of information including, but not limited to technical malfunctions, human error, lost/delayed data transmission, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, line failures of any telephone network, computer equipment, software or any combination thereof, entry materials that have been tampered with, or mail in entries that are illegible, late, lost, damaged, postage due or misdirected. Global Sources is not responsible for any injury or damage to participants' or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any material in this promotion. Entries that have been tampered with or altered are void.
Global Sources reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend this promotion if it becomes technically corrupted or if for any reason the Internet portion of the program is not capable of running as planned, including infections by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of Global Sources that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this promotion.
- Global Sources reserves the right to change these rules and regulations at any time upon notice.
- These rules and regulations and the parties' respective rights and duties shall be interpreted and governed in accordance with the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
