About the speakers
Having faced the China intellectual property (IP) and quality control monsters early on in his career, Mr. Mike Bellamy decided to do something about it by developing the PassageMaker “Black Box Quality Gate”. It’s a system to extract the best pricing in China and protect IP without compromising quality and service. PassageMaker's 100% US-owned and operated Assembly Center in southern China serves as the client's "black box" where inspection, final assembly and branding take place behind closed doors. In this way, intellectual property is physically secured and full quality inspection is conducted before the product leaves China.

Dr. Allen Wong is Senior Vice President of Products, PCCW Consumer Group, responsible for product development and management that serves residential consumer market. This includes the ‘eye’ multimedia lifestyle service, Next Generation Fixed Line (NGFL) and IDD services; Netvigator Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) and Mobile Broadband plus related value-added services such as uHub and PCCW WiFi Hotspots. Allen is also one of the founding architects of the ‘nowTV’ IPTV platform.

Mr. Alex Chung is the General Manager of Shun Hing Group’s Group Marketing Division. Prior to that, he was the COO of Samsung Electronics Hong Kong Co., Ltd, responsible for Samsung’s sales operations in Hong Kong and Macau, including channel marketing, sales and marketing, business development and retail business management.

Since 1983 Mr. Charles Kirmuss has been sourcing products overseas following the technology trail: Japan, Korea, Taiwan and now mainland China. Mr. Kirmuss’ company is a small-medium sized buyer looking for innovative electronic products that are either supplied as-is or are modified to meet his customer market needs in North America and other world markets. He attended his first Global Sources trade show in 2006 in Shanghai and started his Chinese supply adventure there. Over time he realized that sourcing from China was more involved than dealing with manufacturers from other countries. Through the “school of hard knocks” and in making many costly mistakes himself, he realized one needs to take extra measures when dealing with Chinese manufacturers.

Mr. Ricardo Li is Head of Business Development for eBay Greater China, and head of eBay’s Shenzhen office. He initiated the business development infrastructure for eBay, which has generated exceptional performance, and was applauded as "Father of BD" by the CEO of eBay Cross-Border Trade. Mr. Li’s perspective on e-commerce is highly respected by the industry.
Mr. Zach Hegde is CEO of Ming-Global, a progressive promotional solutions provider. He has lived and worked throughout China, Hong Kong and Asia. With his ability to speak five different languages, Zach has set up a proprietary platform for sourcing from China for many international companies.

Mr. George Stepancich is the CEO and founder of Invisionate LLC, a sourcing advisory consulting company in the US. Prior to starting the company, Mr. Stepancich spent 10 years running the US-based consumer electronics company GoldLantern LLC. He has served as chief architect for a start-up venture funded by Goldman Sachs, and Business Development Director for the telecom division of Siemens AG.
