Picking the Right Audio Partner and Product, a Good Sound Choice

Charles Kirmuss, President, Kirmuss & Associates

The world has gone virtual and mobile with earpieces and headsets used everywhere. Originally designed for mobile and professional communications and portable phone use, we now see this market expand into sports activities as well as personal exercise. New entrants into the market are catering to the resurgence of vinyl records and tube audio.

So many product manufacturers and product variations: How to select product and manage your supply chain? What to look for, how to assure continued quality – can a quality control inspection organization help? More than simply testing fit and sound quality, industry veteran Charles Kirmuss will share his experiences and insight into this market sector so as to provide new and experienced buyers alike with the recipe for making your sourcing successful.

Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, and the Road to Mixed Reality

George Stepancich, CEO, Invisionate, LLC

Virtual Reality meets Augmented Reality in a brave new world called Mixed Reality. Virtual Reality (VR) is an immersive experience that transports us to a virtual world. VR products such as head-mounted displays are shipping to gamers and consumer enthusiasts while other industries such as travel and entertainment are also getting on board. Augmented Reality (AR), which is the overlaying of the virtual world on top of the real world, got off to a false start with the introduction of Google Glass a few years ago. AR is now undergoing a reboot with the introduction of exciting new products coming to market for both consumer and industrial applications. All this leads us down the path to the Mixed Reality world (MR). Attend the seminar and find out more about AR, VR, MR and what the impact will be on all worlds.

Charles B Kirmuss is a buyer like you and has been doing electronics sourcing in Asia since 1979. Sourcing first from Japan, then Korea, then Taiwan and now mainland China and as a small to medium buyer himself, his company seeks out new products from China manufacturers that are then customized for his company’s or client’s needs. In his sourcing he has run into many issues of product defects, IP theft, incorrect product received, missing licenses and late deliveries, among a host of other issues that might have affected company survivability if not dealt with during the price and purchase negotiation process. He shares his experiences with both seasoned and new China buyers, hoping that his insight and past experiences will help others have a successful China sourcing experience.
Paul Lee co-founded Aumeo Audio – the startup behind Aumeo, the World’s First Tailored Audio Device – with the goal of creating solutions that are surprisingly simple to use. Aumeo successfully crowdfunded on Indiegogo to the tune of over US$300,000. The device is now available online and in stores around the world. Its audio tailoring technology has also won international acclaim and is a winner of the 2014 Talent Unleashed Awards.
George Stepancich is a successful businessman and entrepreneur. As the CEO and Chairman of Invisionate, a management consulting firm where business development meets venture capital, he has led the company to be among the top 10 venture capital consulting firms as listed by Google organic search.
