The pen can change its color tone from light to dark, and blend various colors seamlessly in a single stroke.
Similar to the eponymous lizard's natural ability to alter its colors and blend into its surroundings, the Chameleon pen can change its ink shade from light to dark on its own in a single continuous stroke. It can also blend or change between two different colors.
The refillable craft pen works by blending alcohol-based ink and colorless toner inside the nib. Once the user starts to draw, the pen will release the abovementioned mix, then gradually dispense undiluted ink, which has its darker tone.
Each pen can be used with other existing Chameleon models and has an ink reservoir that can be filled with differently colored inks, which can be fused with the nib. As a result, the pen will start dispensing one color then blend over to the other.
The Chameleon pen can also be used as a regular marker with a single solid color. It has already exceeded its $15,000 goal on Kickstarter, earning almost $150,000 with more than two weeks left.
