Fashion Accessories opens third Johannesburg run

Fashion belts will be among the anticipated highlights of the three-day sourcing fair.

The show brings the latest fashion accessories from China to South Africa.

The China Sourcing Fair: Fashion Accessories returns to Johannesburg for the third time, bringing together suppliers from the Greater China region and buyers from South Africa and nearby hubs. The biggest event of its kind in the region opens at the Gallagher Convention Centre, in this city in South Africa on November 28. It will run until November 30.

The major exhibits include casual and fashion handbags, and evening and leather bags. Suppliers will be showcasing their latest belts, footwear, gloves and mittens, socks and umbrellas.

Jewelry, scarves and shawls will likewise fill many display shelves. Hair accessories and headwear are expected to draw attention as well.

The three-day show gathers professional OEMs from Greater China’s key supply hubs. The fair is well-timed to address growing demand for China-made products in the fast-rising sub-Saharan African economy. The former is currently South Africa’s major imports source. Bilateral trade between the two countries reportedly grew to $155 billion last year from $125 billion in 2010.

As the world’s manufacturing powerhouse, China is home to a big number of competent suppliers, most of which ship their products to major markets around the world. Many of the fair’s exhibitors are also behind some of today’s famous brands.

The Gallagher Convention Centre is situated in South Africa’s business capital of Johannesburg, accessible from the OR Tambo International Airport and other regional airports in the country. The venue’s proximity to the airports makes it accessible to overseas buyers.

The China Sourcing Fair: Fashion Accessories runs concurrently with several sourcing events on electronics, hardware and building materials, home products, and gifts and premiums. There are also simultaneous exhibits highlighting the latest in garments and textiles, baby and children’s products, and solar and energy saving
products. The India Sourcing Fair is another colocated event.
