It has realtime clock (RTC) and a cyclic redundancy checker (CRC) that ensures accurate time and data even during power outages. It supports 200 holiday, 128 time, and eight conditional unlocked door schedules, as well as anti-pass back and duress alarm. Its “black list” function prevents usage of lost cards, while its watchdog feature ensures a halt-free system.

The security system will supervise about 2,000 doors across 10 main structures, including the Olympic Village, the Chinese Olympic Committee Tower, the Olympic Sports Center Stadium, the Baseball Stadium, the Bicycle Stadium, the Media Center Building and the Tianjin Olympic Center Stadium.

This trend will compel businesses to adopt desktop virtualization, replacing their private network infrastructures -- "killing" traditional network security, according to Robert Whiteley and Natalie Lambert, Forrester Research Inc. analysts.
