Kinwei Technology (Hong Kong) Ltd has released model KW-GM7002 in-car GPS based on the Star SiRF III module with 4,800bps baud rate and 0.1m/s antenna sensitivity. Running on Win CE .NET 5.0 OS and ARMV41 application, the 20-channel model locates data points to within 3 to 10m at 90 percent accuracy. It has -159dBm tracking sensitivity, 515m/s maximum tracking speed and up to 18,000m location height. It cold starts in less than 100s, hot starts in less than 3s and warm starts in less than 38s in open space. It supports TMC with voice reporting. The unit is equipped with a S3C2451 chipset-based Samsung 400MHz ARM926EJ core and 64 to 128MB DDR2 SDRAM , expandable from 128MB to 4GB via MMC or SD flash memory. Its 7in TFT-LCD touchscreen has 300:1 contrast ratio, 420cd/m2 brightness and 800x480-pixel resolution. It supports handwriting input. The Bluetooth-enabled device has CMMB or DVB-T TV, 88 to 92MHz FM radio and GSM functions. It receives SMS messages and phone calls, and supports handsfree operation, as well as GPRS, Wi-Fi, USB 2.0/1.1 connectivity. It may be integrated with existing car rearview camera system. The product is compatible with MP3/4, WMA, PCM, ASF, WMV, AVI, DivX, BMP, JPG and PNG files. A 7.4V built-in lithium battery provides 2hours operating and up to 200 hours standby time. The unit also runs on 12VDC power and consumes less than 200mW.
