Design, function upgrades lead trends in smartphone case line

Makers pattern design R&D after newly launched smartphones to ensure fit and ease of use.

TOP TRENDS

Design: Classic black and white remain popular, but bright hues are also available as are diverse themes and motifs. Makers follow trends in the mobile phone market, patterning releases after newly launched models, in particular the iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S III.
Embellishments: More companies are incorporating pearls, rhinestones and other crystals to boost visual appeal. Some pieces have an aluminum, 3D laser, fabric, PU leather or wooden layer as cover trimming.
Add-ons: The latest releases have a display stand, money or credit card holder, stylus pen sleeve, hand strap or built-in mirror for enhanced functionality.
