Line underscores high efficiency and storage capacity to suit elevated power requirements.

• High efficiency underscored: China suppliers of solar laptop battery chargers adopt mainly monocrystalline silicon solar panels for their higher conversion efficiency, which averages 15 to 18 percent and can even reach 24 percent. In contrast, polycrystalline versions deliver 12 to 17 percent.
  
• Li-polymer battery leads: Units that employ Li-polymer batteries dominate the line, a trend that will persist in coming years. Popular charger models have more than 12,000mAh capacity.
  
• Broad compatibility: To match various notebook PC models, suppliers offer versions with 12, 16, 19, 22 and 24VDC output. Most types also have a USB 2.0 port to charge other portable devices. A few come with an extra Micro-USB connection or a 9VDC output jack to support digital cameras.
  
• Price forecast: Quotes will remain stable in 1H12. In the long term, these are expected to decline as production accelerates.
  
• Output projection: Makers expect demand from Asia, South America, Africa and the Middle East will boost yield at least 10 percent by year-end.
