• Single-use bands for greater security: There is a growing number of single-use bands that can only be unfastened by cutting. With a loop on one end, the lock does not allow the tie to be pulled backward once it is inserted, preventing name cards from being transferred or swapped. These releases are priced 10 percent higher than typical models with reusable straps.
  
• Novelty designs: To make individual luggage tags stand out, many versions adopt novelty shapes instead of the typical rectangular construction. Some pieces are also made of fluorescent fabrics to attract attention. Unique features and contours push up quotes between 10 and 20 percent.
  
• Luggage tags as attachments: Although basic models still dominate, some manufacturers combine luggage tags with other premiums. These alternatives are often positioned as multipurpose flashlights or USB flash drives with luggage tag attachments.
  
• Price forecast: Markups of 10 to 15 percent are expected in coming months. Labor outlay jumped almost 30 percent, while the rate of soft PVC surged by more than 20 percent.
