United States Fujitsu Microelectronics (Shanghai) Co. Ltd has introduced a series of new version models of the highly optimized JAVA CDC virtual machine that was designed and developed in answer to Fujitsu SmartMPEG video frequency decoding series chips.
The JVM CDC technology, only enabled on set-top boxes (STB) that use 32MB memory, allows STBs to use rich Java software resources for accessing powerful online game, online shopping, online stock operation, online lottery and other rich interactive businesses.
Fujitsu has already sold nearly 40 million SmartMPEG video frequency decoding chips for the China’s digital TV industry. Fujitsu’s JVM CDC technology is developed through close cooperation between the domestic technical development team of Fujitsu and technical personnel from Sun. This is the first set-top box JVM project that was developed in China and has passed Sun’s TCK technology compatibility test.
