Safety continues to spur R&D

	Exhibitors from the Greater China region and other key sourcing hubs will highlight protection and value add-ons in their releases.

Protection will be emphasized at the China Sourcing Fair: Baby & Children’s Products as makers release models that meet various international standards.

Suppliers at the China Sourcing Fair: Baby & Children’s Products will be underscoring compliance with different safety guidelines in their selections. As such, models that conform to the US’ CPSIA and the EU’s Toy Safety Directive will top the bill at the show’s spring edition. The event will be held from April 20 to 23 at the AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong.

Featured baby furniture and travel products, including strollers, car seats and safety harnesses, will highlight added protection and comfort. Lightweight and colorful travel cots with coated steel tube frames and polyester or nylon fabric covers will also be popular.
For differentiation, companies will offer accessories such as front baskets, toy bags and bars, mosquito nets and diaper changing platforms. Hundreds of baby strollers with various canopy and cushion designs will be displayed as well.

Three-in-one baby carriers supporting face-in, face-out and backpack carrying positions are expected to attract buyers’ interest, with some versions able to support up to 9kg.

Companies explore organic materials
Baby apparel will veer away from synthetic fibers and use environment-friendly materials such as recycled and organic cotton and bamboo.

Bedding and maternity wear are the other products included in the “green” trend.

Polo and T-shirts, vests, coats, pants, shorts, skirts, rompers, and denim sets made of functional fabrics will take centerstage, with designs stressing breathability, and static, water and UV resistance.

Rainwear suppliers will be showing off their latest lines of PVC, PU, TPU and nylon coats, suits, jackets and ponchos. Matching umbrellas, rubber boots, gloves and hats will boast attractive prints and colors.

Toys, electronics highlight multifunctionality
The spotlight will likewise be on plush toys, plastic cars, walkie-talkies, colored PU balls, learning blocks and other toys incorporating an assortment of add-on features. Some stuffed toys will come with a radio, light, digital photo frame, MP4 player and clock.

Products designed specifically for young athletes, including rhythmic gymnastic ribbons, hoops, ropes and balls, will also be lined up.

Electronic gadgets at the show include wireless baby monitors with PIR motion alarm and VOX function.

Smart feeding bottles and kettles that maintain optimal water temperature for milk formulas will be on display as well.

Global Sources will be hosting a series of free conferences paneled by trade and industry experts, where visitors can avail of varied market intelligence reports during the show.

Vendor summits and private sourcing meetings are also scheduled to maximize business opportunities between volume buyers and suppliers.
