Connected products intended for children are a marked trend at this October's Global Sources Mobile Electronics show. Smart safety products are a major category, such as the wearable splash alert from Asindo Ltd (booth 11T23), which warns parents if their child falls into water, or the GPS-tracking watch-phone from Fujian Ruiven Information Technology (booth 7P28).
Meanwhile, educational toys are taking advantage of connected apps to expand the range of content that can be enjoyed with a single toy set. Examples include the Attocube wooden puzzle, the Kamibot programmable papercraft robot (booth 11Q30) or the Smart Palette digital painting toy from Goonies Ltd (booth 11Q23).
