Shenzhen Aglare has positive outlook for LED sector

The maker expects LED lamps to dominate the interior lighting segment in five to 10 years.

LED specialist Shenzhen Aglare Lighting Co. Ltd is confident that the industry is set for a bright future ahead despite current challenges such as the global economy and the yuan exchange rate.

In an interview with Global Sources, general manager Jun Cheng talks about the LED lighting industry’s future and how the company differentiates itself from competitors. Below are excerpts of the discussion.

Our most outstanding achievement is in the LED amusement lamp segment. Research tells us that about half of overseas markets source from our company. Thanks to our strong technology capability and rich experience, we dominate this line.

Since entering the industry in 2005, we have patented a series of key technologies in LED amusement lamps. This deters other suppliers from competing in the line.

At the same time, we also have our strong in-house technical support to thank for our LED amusement lamps’ rich colors and durability.

Our strong in-house production capability and product range are our leading advantages. Our facility can produce most types of LED components, which are used in-house and exported as well.

We also roll out finished LED bulbs and lamps in various ratings, sizes and shapes.

We can manufacture low- and high-voltage LED lamps, at 12 and 220V respectively.

Because of the challenging global economy, buyers have become cautious of purchasing LED lighting products. In the amusement lamps segment, clients are more hesitant in updating their amusement facilities because of the lower number of visitors. As a result, sales of amusement lamps dropped. The same situation applies to interior lighting products.

The increasing yuan rate is also narrowing exporters’ profit margins. We project 3 to 5 percent of China manufacturers will shut down next year.

LED lamps will dominate interior lighting in five to 10 years. The industry, however, will experience a difficult period ahead due to the line’s high cost and the global recession.

On the other hand, 3, 5 and 7W ball bulbs will grow more popular than strip lights because these are less expensive and easier to install.

Generally speaking, the LED lighting industry is facing difficulties. However, the sector also has a very bright future.

The line is environment-friendly. We hope everyone works to protect our environment as this is one way of protecting ourselves as well.
