Car tire production at Cheng Shin is running at nearly full capacity. The company has a total of 11 factories in Taiwan, mainland China and Thailand, covering a combined area of 3.3 million square meters. All processes are done in-house following ISO 9001 standards.

Various tire models are available, including those for cars, off-road vehicles, motorcycles and bicycles. Models bear the E-Mark, and QA and DOT approval.

Car tires represent more than 50 percent of output. Most products are exported, with models under the in-house Maxxis and Cheng Shin brands accounting for 80 percent of shipments.

Comar is a trading company that offers only car tires. Products carry DOT approval.

The entire line is exported, totaling 150,000 pieces worth $500,000 annually. The bulk of shipments are under OEM or ODM contracts. Only 20 percent of products sent abroad carry the in-house Comar brand.

Car tires specialist Federal offers models with CCCT and E-Mark approval, with exports accounting for 85 percent of output. All outbound shipments are under the in-house Federal and Hero brands. The company is projecting 10 percent export growth in the next 12 months.

Certified to ISO 9002, QS-9000 and TS 16949, Federal has two factories. The Taoyuan plant covers 192,000sqm while the other facility is located in Jiangxi province, mainland China.

ISO 9001:2000-certified Fullrun specializes in car tires. Models meet ECE, DOT, NOM and INMETRO standards, and the entire line is exported. Shipments are split between OEM orders and products bearing the in-house Fullrun, Antyre, Clear and Fullway brands. The company counts Parrish and Inter-sprint among its OEM clients.

Car tires are made in an ISO 9001:2000-certified factory in Qingdao with vulcanizing and molding equipment.
