James Liu

Chief Executive Officer

James Liu is the Chief Executive Officer of Global Sources. Mr. Liu joined Global Sources in 2025 and continues to serve as a Managing Director on the Blackstone Operating Team, where he assists and guides Blackstone portfolio companies. Before joining Blackstone in 2020, Mr. Liu was SVP of Strategy and an Executive Board Member of Zhongnan Group, a leading Chinese real estate development and construction company. He also worked at Intertek China as the Chief Operating Officer. Prior to Intertek, Mr. Liu spent over 20 years with GE, initially in the US and internationally on GE’s information management leadership program and Corporate Audit Staff. He then progressed through a variety of business leadership roles in GE Healthcare, GE Capital and GE Industrial in U.S, China and elsewhere in Asia. Mr. Liu received his BA, magna cum laude, from West Virginia Wesleyan College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Connie Lai

Chief Financial Officer

Connie Lai was appointed Global Sources' Chief Financial Officer on 1 August, 2010. Ms. Lai joined Global Sources in June 2007 as Financial Controller, Hong Kong & China. Prior to joining Global Sources, she was Chief Financial Officer and an Executive Director of HC International, Inc., a Hong Kong listed company. Earlier in her career, she spent four years with PricewaterhouseCoopers Hong Kong. Ms. Lai graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong with a bachelor's degree in professional accountancy. She is also a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in the United Kingdom.

John Kao

Hong Kong and Overseas Shows

John Kao is Vice President of Global Sources, overseeing the company’s Hong Kong Shows and overseas exhibition business. He is also the honorary President of the Shenzhen Virtual Reality Industry Association. Since joining Global Sources in 1989, Mr. Kao has played a pivotal role in the operations and strategic development of the company’s Hong Kong and international exhibitions. Drawing on his deep industry expertise and unique market insights, he has successfully led major strategic transformations and expansion initiatives, significantly strengthening Global Sources’ market position and profitability. Under Mr. Kao’s leadership, the Hong Kong Shows—established by him and his team—have grown into globally recognized sourcing events, widely regarded for their scale, influence and industry impact. Mr. Kao possesses extensive knowledge of the electronics industry’s operational landscape and demonstrates strong foresight in market trends and technological advancements. In addition, he has conducted in-depth research into the lifestyle electronics and pet product sectors, actively exploring new avenues for growth and driving diversification into emerging markets.

Wendy Lai

Global Sources Exhibitions

Wendy Lai is the Vice President of Global Sources Exhibitions, a division of Global Sources and one of Asia's top-tier exhibition organizers, specializing in business-to-business (B2B) trade shows. Since 2006, Global Sources has been organizing trade shows in Hong Kong, attracting over 2 million international buyers and exhibitors to the city over more than a decade. Ms. Lai is a highly regarded industry expert with over 20 years' experience in managing B2B trade shows, business development, strategic planning and project management. Her trade-show footprint has covered Greater China, Singapore, India, Indonesia, Dubai, South Africa, Brazil, and the USA. Ms. Lai holds a bachelor's degree in Communication Studies from Hong Kong Baptist University. She is the Executive Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Industry Association (HKECIA) and the Secretary General and a board member of the Asian Federation of Exhibition & Convention Associations (AFECA).

Sam Hui

Vice President

Show Strategy & International Business

Sam Hui serves as the Vice President of Show Strategy & International Business, overseeing the formulation of show strategies and development plans, as well as leading international show development and operations. Mr. Hui joined Global Sources' Hong Kong office in December 1992 as an Account Executive. Through a series of promotions, he has held various roles, including Sales Manager, Regional Manager for mainland China, Regional Sales Manager for Asia, and General Sales Manager for the Electronics Group. He later transitioned to the role of General Manager for Strategy & Show Management and was appointed Vice President of Show Strategy & International Business in 2021, a position he continues to hold. Mr. Hui holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Hong Kong and a Master of Business Administration from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He has also completed a Mergers and Acquisitions course at Imperial College London.

Coral Deng

Human Resources and Admin

Coral Deng is the Head of Human Resources and Admin for Global Sources. She is corresponding to provide corporate organization strategy, global recruitment, compensation and benefit management, talent development and career planning, and personnel and admin services to the Global Sources team worldwide. Since joining Global Sources in 2003, Ms. Deng has leveraged her extensive expertise and practical experience to actively drive the modernization of the company's human resources and administrative management. Her efforts have consistently infused the company with sustained momentum for long-term growth.
