3Rs Sports Shoes Design Competition winner revealed!

An all-out artistic battle took place at the halls of Global Sources Fashion as young designers from different parts of Asia showed off their flashy sneaker creations at the 3Rs Sports Shoes Design Competition. The shoes, representing the 3Rs: reduce, reuse and recycle, were made of eco-friendly and upcycled materials and came in avant-garde styles.

After the dust settled, Joanne Li of Hong Kong emerged victorious with her sneakers called Escape. Resembling a stressed out facial expression, the footwear is said to embody the fast-paced life in Hong Kong.

Global Sources Fashion is the largest fashion trade fair in Hong Kong. It boasts 1,800 booths of accessories, fabrics and apparel.

The show runs every April and October at AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong, and is co-located with the Global Sources Lifestyle show.
