Higher discretionary spending, and the consequent willingness of parents to purchase upscale juvenile products, is key in the robust growth of the premium durable juvenile market. This is according to the Global Durable Juvenile Products Market 2014-2018 research report from ReportsnReports.com.
Strollers, car safety seats and cribs are among the products with the largest share in the industry, and with parents' prioritizing safety and style over price, manufacturers are gearing product development toward designs that promote comfort, safety, ease and convenience.
The GB Pockit from Boston-based GB is just one of the recent releases following these trends.
Shown at the ABC Kids Expo in Las Vegas, the GB Pockit measures just 12x14x7in when folded, beating the Guinesss World Record for the world's smallest folding pram. The 9-pound product fits underneath an airplane seat when folded.
The product will be available in six colors. It will have a height-adjustable 5-point harness, removable seat, sunshade and storage basket. The last can hold up to 11 pounds of baby items.
The GP Pockit will be available spring-2016, retailing at $229.
