While the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus had the best-selling opening weekend in Apple’s history, some bad news came along as well. Videos have circulated that seem to show that the iPhone 6 bends easily compared with older iPhones and competing phones, apparently due to the sheer thinness of the phone. Is it accurate?

Apple denies the claim, and other testers have noted that while the phone bends more easily than others, the amount of stress needed is extraordinary and is unlikely to happen in the real world. Regardless of whether this is fact or fiction, however, this may come as a welcome rumor to manufacturers of hard cases and other rigid phone cases. We should expect consumers to react to the news by buying phone cases that are more rigid than in the past.

Given that the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus have already sold more than 10 million units, and are expected to sell as many as 120 million units by 2H 2015, this represents a great opportunity for suppliers and sellers of such cases.
