Cable ties keep wires and tubes organized, prevent damage and can hold tags that carry information helpful for installation, management and maintenance. There are various types based on materials, mechanical and tensile strength, and temperature range, depending on intended requirements.

In China, manufacturers are focusing on ties that have a high loop tensile strength and will not loosen over time, regardless of application, whether for household or industrial environments. Some emphasize one-piece construction for durability, and low thread force and curved tips for easy use.

Widely available are 4 to 48in self-locking, double-locking, marker, releasable and push-mount types in various materials. Stainless steel and thermoplastic, including polyester, TPEE, ETFE and nylon, are the usual choices.

Common features include high temperature range, as well as radiation, UV and chemical resistance. There are variants for indoor and outdoor installation. To ensure safe use, most cable ties out of China meet CE, CSA, RoHS and UL standards.

Chinese suppliers are open to buyers’ specifications on material, color, length, width and even on where to source manufacturing inputs. They generate revenue from this flexibility to customization as such products make up from 40 to as much as 80 percent of their shipments.
