CNC & manual machining for precision parts

For manufacturing parts made of metal, plastic and other materials, CNC machining is the popular option thanks to its advantages of accuracy, precision and speed, although the conventional manual method is still being used. In China, there are companies that offer both, with the latter now mostly relegated to small-batch production of simple designs while the CNC process is used for high-precision parts made in large volumes.

CNC machined products currently account for more than 90 percent of shipments from Chinese parts suppliers. These enterprises offer drilling, milling, turning, broaching, laser matching, etching and chemical machining, and surface treatments such as anodizing, oxide blacking, polishing, chrome, zinc or nickel plating, carburizing, sandblasting, heat treatment and powder coating. Their range of materials includes copper, bronze, brass, aluminum, stainless steel, steel alloys, plastic and carbon fiber. As for tolerance, Chinese manufacturers can realize ±0.005mm.

Regardless of the machining method used, they ensure parts are made to AISI, DIN, GB and JIS standards and are compliant with RoHS requirements.

All materials are domestically sourced. Their costs have not been fluctuating much compared to copper, keeping parts quotes generally stable. Copper prices, however, are projected to continue rising amid growing demand from various industries, mainly construction, electronics, and new energy applications.

Machined part with ±0.01mm tolerance

The LC1601-E-2711 machined part from Dongguan HLC Metal Parts Ltd is made with ±0.01mm tolerance. It undergoes turning, burring, degreasing and polishing and can have any surface treatment, depending on the requirement. Custom specifications are accepted. Ltd offers the KGI1343 machined part for casting machines in brass, aluminum, copper, stainless steel, iron and ABS versions, tolerance of ±0.005 to 0.01mm and surface roughness of Ra 0.2 to 3.2. Available surface treatment options include polishing, general and hard oxidizing, and tempering. An order of at least 5,000 pieces is required and has a 15-day lead time.

Machined part with Ra 0.2 to 3.2 surface roughness

This machined part from Dongguan Kinggold Industry Co. Ltd, the KGI0855, can be made using aluminum, copper, brass, stainless steel, iron or ABS at tolerance of ±0.005 to 0.01mm and surface roughness of Ra 0.2 to 3.2. It can be polished, oxidized or tempered as required. For a minimum of 5,000 pieces, orders can be shipped within 15 days.

Engineering plastic part
