Cordless power tools, precision parts lead trend

Portability, speed, precision and efficiency are among the many reasons that power tools are a worthwhile investment for businesses, homeowners and DIY enthusiasts.  The power tools and accessories market is one of the hardware industry’s segments with high growth prospects, spurred by demand from the construction, automotive, manufacturing assembly and fabrication sectors.

The global power tools market is expected to grow significantly as DIY activities and the trend toward adoption of cordless equipment continue to rise, and economies prepare for post-COVID 19 recovery. In a report published by Fortune Business Insights, it is expected to reach $33.05 billion in 2028, posting a CAGR of 3.8 percent. The report added that industrialized countries such as the US, China, the UK, Japan and India are expected to generate huge demand.

Consumers expect manufacturers to roll out power tools and accessories with improved performance, higher efficiency and ease of operation, according to multiple research reports. Viewed by segment, the electric tools category is expected to continue dominating the market. In terms of tool type, drilling and fastening tools topped the power tools segment in 2020 while material removal tools saw the highest growth.
