The typical power strip has become versatile with modular, rotatable and snakelike versions out in the market and increasing in number. A new power strip is showing that the product can have a more compact form yet still be as useful as before.

The Power Donut & Bagel from Singapore-based design team Mogic is a donut-shaped power strip that can be carried in a pocket. Despite its size, it can charge multiple devices all at the same time, having multiple AC outlets. There are two USB fast-charging ports and indicators as well. For safe charging, the power strip also incorporates a 6.3A safety fuse and a spare fuse. Its 3ft adjustable cable has auto-lock stoppers so it does not get tangled.

The product comes in two versions, the Donut suitable for US, UK, EU and AU plug configuration, and the Bagel which is universal. The portable power strip completed its funding goal in Indiegogo and will be shipped in April.

In other supply markets, China for instance, power strips are also getting smaller but “smarter”. Makers have also rolled out a few multiport models that look like power banks or cubes. Some support Wi-Fi and USB charging.
