DuPont introduces Tychem 2000 SFR, the latest addition to its protective apparel selection

Global protective clothing specialist DuPont Protection Solutions launched recently a secondary flame-retardant garment designed for workers in extremely hazardous environments, including refineries, petrochemical plants and burning buildings, where dual protection against exposure to chemical and fires are necessary.

The company describes Tychem 2000 SFR as a protective coverall that "provides an effective barrier against a range of inorganic acids and bases, plus industrial cleaning chemicals, as well as particles." The clothing does not ignite in the event of a flash fire and helps prevent burn injuries. Being a secondary garment, it must be worn over flame-retardant clothing and with appropriate personal protective equipment that covers the face, hands and feet.

The protective wear comes with a respirator fit hood lined with the company's ProShield 6 SFR fabric and a chin flap with double-sided adhesive tape. The hood, waist, cuffs and ankles are elasticated for a secure fit while the zipper closure has a single flap with double-sided adhesive tape for added protection.

The Tychem 2000 SFR is the latest addition to the brand's Tyvek and Tychem lines, and the first in a series of product launches to celebrate the 50th year of Tyvek.
