Security and emergency personnel need the proper equipment, which has increased in over the years to now range from handcuffs and nightsticks to bulletproof vests, portable radios, mobile phones or pagers, flashlights, binoculars, pepper spray, plastic or rubber gloves and body-worn cameras. Depending on local regulations, some are issued a stun gun. Many also have first-aid kits and breathalyzers in their service vehicles.

Based on Market Watch’s forecast, personal protective equipment for law enforcement will reach $1.89 billion between 2021 and 2025 at nearly 10 percent CAGR. In search-and-rescue equipment, excluding aircraft and vehicles, the projected total is $21.85 billion by 2027 from $17.19 billion in 2020, according to Industry Research.
