Many makers are adopting the power-saving sensors that can now match up with CCD.

While security cameras with CCD sensors have been known to yield higher-quality images with less noise and distortion as compared to those adopting CMOS, dome cameras from China that use the latter are increasing.

Now matching up with CCD variants, makers are offering CMOS models that can now deliver HD or AHD resolution. Many of these types feature automatic backlight, white balance, exposure and other lighting compensation adjustments. Minimum illumination can go as low as 0lux using certain lenses. Sensors come from Sony, Aptina and OmniVision. For a wider range at night, cameras integrate up to 36 IR LEDs. IR distance can reach 30 or 80m for some models. A number of releases have dual IR-cut switches for easy shifting to day or night mode.

The products in this gallery have been handpicked by our China-based Market Analysts for representing current trends in dome cameras.
