The mainstream selection in China consists of single- and multilayer units. The latter comes mostly in chip types.
Typical ceramic capacitors from China suppliers come in single- and multilayer kinds, with the latter representing more than 90 percent of sales. All single-layer units are leaded, while multilayer counterparts come in chip or MLCC variants as well.
Chip types lead the selection of multilayer units, mostly in 0603, 0402 and 0201 sizes. Units in 1210, 1206, 0805 and 01005 make up the rest of the selection.
Multilayer kinds dominate Guangdong Fenghua Advanced Technology Holding Co. Ltd's ceramic capacitor output and about 90 percent are chip models. Releases in 0603 and 0402 represent 70 percent of the company's MLCC yield, while 0201 varieties have a 10 percent share. Jimson Electronics (Xiamen) Co. Ltd's range consists of multilayer units.
Based on the dielectric materials used, there are class 1 and class 2 types. The first includes mainly C0G and NP0, which suit resonant circuits for their high stability and low loss. Conventional models run in -55 to 125 C and have 0±30ppm/C temperature coefficient.
Class 2 ceramic capacitors come in X5R, X7R, Y5V, Z5U and X8R. These feature enhanced volumetric efficiency, meeting requirements in smoothing, bypass, coupling and decoupling applications. X5R and X7R versions respectively support operating temperature of -55 to 85 C and -55 to 125 C. Both have ±15 percent temperature coefficient. As for Y5V models, it is -30 to 85 C and +22/-82 percent.
Besides ceramic, the key components in manufacture are electrodes and terminals. BME is the mainstream electrode used, while others adopt NME. In terminals, nickel and copper have replaced silver and palladium because of cost consideration.
In MLCCs, the terminals are usually Ni/Sn-plated, while leaded types employ copper or copper-clad wire with Sn/Cu coating.
Makers source inputs locally. They turn mainly to Shandong Sinocera for ceramic materials, while companies such as Guangdong Fenghua produce them in-house.
The cost of manufacturing inputs is expected to stay at current levels until 2016, and will keep prices steady.

The model WD Y1 ceramic capacitor from Dongguan Jianshun Electronic Co. Ltd has 4,700pF and ±20 percent tolerance. Its rated voltage is 400V and temperature coefficient is that of Y5V. The minimum order is 10,000 units, with a 25-day delivery lead time.

The 1206B/102K501NT model from Guangdong Fenghua Advanced Technology Holding Co. Ltd is a multilayer ceramic capacitor with 560 to 1,000pF and capacitance and ±10 percent tolerance. The 1206 SMD unit is rated at 500V, which suits high-voltage circuits. It uses X7R dielectric.
The supplier requires an order of at least 50,000 units. Delivery is within 7 days.

Jimson Electronics (Xiamen) Co. Ltd's model CT8Y2 ceramic capacitor has 10 to 10,000pF capacitance measured at 1kHz±10 percent, 1 to 5V rms and 25 C. Its rated voltage is 300VAC and test voltage 2,600VAC/min.
The compact unit suits high-voltage circuits in TVs, monitors, electronic lighting ballasts, power supplies and telecom equipment. It can also be used as a snubber and EMI/RFI filter. The operating temperature is -25 to 85 C.
The product meets CSA, UL, SEMKO, SEV, FIMKO, NEMKO Korea, DEMKO and VDE requirements. The minimum order is 5,000 units, and the delivery lead time 15 days.

The model TMCC02 ceramic capacitor from Shenzhen Topmay Electronic Co. Ltd has 100 to 10,000pF under 1kHz, 1V rms and 25±2 C and not exceeding tolerance. The last is ±10 percent K and ±20 percent M. The maximum dissipation factor is 2.5 percent, and the insulation resistance ≥6,000Mohm at 100DVC for 1min.
The minimum order is 10,000 units, with delivery lead time of 10 days.
