EE, EI and UI types continue to dominate output of China suppliers.

Encapsulated transformers from China makers come mainly in 0.25 to 60VA rated power and single- and dual-output models. Based on the primary voltage, there are 110, 115, 220, 230 and 380V units. The secondary voltage depends on buyers' requirements, with those in 6, 9, 12, 15, 18 and 24V popular. The dielectric strength is typically between 4,000 and 4,500V rms. Some models feature built-in short-circuit protection.

EE, EI and UI are still the mainstream choices by core shape and structure. The first is in the 0.25 to 0.6VA range. EI versions are available in 0.5 to 60VA, and UI kinds in 2 to 60VA. The third suits uses with height limitations.

At Unicreed (China) Electronics Co. Ltd, EI types 0.6 to 40VA represent about 80 percent of output and EE in 0.35 and 0.5VA the rest.

Nanjing Ansen Electronic Co., Ltd's 0.5 to 25VA EI encapsulated transformers have 80 percent share of yield. In Shanghai Meisongbei Electronics Co. Ltd, such units in 0.6 to 30VA account for up to 80 percent, and 0.35 and 0.5VA EE and 2 to 30VA UI variants the remainder.

Nylon, PET and PBT are mainly used for bobbins, and the third, PBO and PPO for the housing.

Prices are expected to stay the same in 2016, thanks to stable material costs.
