Shanghai 21st Century Electronic Equipment Co. Ltd’s 1005 model displays via its screen the type of metal it senses. The handheld metal detector can search shallow water through its 170mm water-resistant coil.

The unit has a ⅛in headphone jack and an adjustable stem. It is powered by six AA batteries. The sensitivity is over 10cm but this can be adjusted. Users can also set the volume.
