Huawei launches Mate 8 phablet with 6in display

Huawei has unveiled its latest mobile device, the Mate 8 phablet, which boasts a 6in, 1920x1080-pixel capacitive touchscreen display. The model integrates a Hisilicon Kirin 950 octa-core CPU with 4x Cortex A72 at 2.3GHz, 4x Cortex A53 at 1.8GHz and Mali T880 GPU. It also adopts ARM’s big.LITTLE technology, and has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of ROM. The phablet supports dual-SIM cards.

The Mate 8 adopts 16MP rear and 8MP front Sony cameras with f/2.0/2.4 aperture. Maximum resolution of images is 4608×3456 pixels while that of videos is 1080 pixels. The device supports voice recognition, and gravity, acceleration, luminance and GPS sensors. It has a fingerprint scanner that can deliver data within 0.5 second. A 4,000mAh battery powers the unit, achieving full charge in just 2.5 hours. The 157.1×80.6×7.9mm phablet is housed in aluminum.
