Suppliers are pairing different types of metal, finishes and embellishments to create eye-catching pieces.
Intricate designs highlighting traditional motifs remain a strong trend in India fashion jewelry. Many of the latest necklaces, bracelets and earrings feature complex metalwork that serves as setting for semiprecious stones, crystals or glass beads of vivid colors.
Among recent releases are pieces reminiscent of traditional temple or bridal jewelry. Structures and embellishments featuring peacocks, elephants, flowers and other objects in nature are also being offered.
Makers are combining different materials to produce statement pieces. Silver chains or links, for instance, are paired with wooden beads to produce an ethnic or tribal effect. Some companies employ gold or silver plaiting, painting and other types of finishing to produce a rich look.
