Latest tumblers turn up the heat with smart, innovative designs

A growing number of models can be paired with mobile phones and increase user convenience with durability, portability and versatility.

Over the years the basic tumbler has been through its share of upgrades. Recent models are smarter, able to pair with mobile phones via an app, and add to user convenience with features such as a compact body and an ability to maintain temperature for more than 24 hours.

The smart water bottle Hidrate Spark, for example, is app-enabled and tracks water intake. Equipped with sensors that detect the environment's temperature and humidity, the unit glows to remind the user to drink to stay hydrated.

Another model is Golchi, which is dubbed as the "world's most versatile and customizable bottle", due to its modular design that allows the user to store both hot and cold drinks in various compartments. With a double-wall structure, the product can retain hot and cold temperatures for 12 and 24 hours, respectively.

Like Golchi, the Ember tumbler can maintain a drink's hot temperature. However, this app-enabled model has a rotate ring at the bottom that can be used to adjust the beverage's temperature.
