LEDs and sensors, whose prices have gone down significantly in the past few years, have found their way not only in light bulbs, security products and consumer electronics, but in kitchen and bathroom faucets as well.

A number of suppliers have released recently faucets with color-changing LEDs that add to the ambiance of one's kitchen or bathroom. At present, these products boast improved functionality. LED faucets now integrate and work with temperature sensors. Faucet lights turn red, blue or green to indicate that the running water is hot, cold or warm. The different colors help users determine the comfort level of the water's temperature, as it varies from person to person.

Also available in the market are LED nozzles that can fit existing regular faucets. These are screwed with an internal thread adapter. Some of the latest LED faucets do not need batteries to run, drawing power from the flowing water itself. These are often priced at $10 and lower.

Hardware buyers can consider marketing the said faucet nozzles for households with small children and to supply nursing homes, due to the increase in thermal pain thresholds for the elderly.
