From a startup called Nexpaq, the model Nex-C0010 modular mobile phone case allows a user to customize and add functions to an existing smartphone through the six square modules found on the back of the case. A user simply has to slide the modules to enable its functions. These modules are designed to extend battery capacity, enhance the speaker volume, and add sensors for temperature, pollution reading and so on. Currently, there are 12 modules to choose from: battery, temperature, speaker, USB flash, laser, breathalyzer, super LED flashlight, hotkeys, backup, SD card, air quality and dummy. Up to six modules can be used at a time. Buyer-specified functions are welcome. The next-generation case suits the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, Galaxy S5, S6, S6 Edge, Note 4 and Note 4 Edge, and OnePlus One.
The Nex-C0010 model has raised $280,000 since its launch on Kickstarter in April.
