The Nooks dollhouses, designed by Helsinki-based illustrator Janine Rewell, were created to counter the age-old notion that dollhouses are strictly for girls only.

The gender-neutral collection combines bold colors and fantasy themes. Animals such as raccoons, elephants, baboons, lions and rabbits populate the houses. One design features a sliding pole a la the Batcave while two other versions have ladders. Perhaps to keep designs simple, some elements, including ovens, pianos and even cars, are painted on.

The dollhouses come in seven different themes and are interconnectable. Each house is made of wood and handpainted.
