On February 1, 2022, the label requirement of the Triman logo and the sorting information as per the article 17 of the French AGEC law & Decree n° 2021-835 of June 29, 2021, was validated. It applies to all clothing, household linen and footwear products imported into the French market.
The Triman logo is a symbol in force in France which stands for the recyclability of a product. It means that this product is collected separately and is therefore subject to extended producer responsibility. The Infotri label contains important sorting information for end consumers.
In order to comply with the new mandatory regulatory requirements, below main elements must be displayed:
The Triman symbol and sorting information must be physically present at the point of sale. These can be displayed on different media, including the textile label showing the fibre composition, on the temporary label (such as stickers or hangtags), printed or embroidered onto the product, on the packaging in which the product is sold to customers (name tag, box, bag, etc.). The symbol can be used horizontally or vertically.
All clothing, household linen and footwear products sold in France must bear the Triman symbol and sorting information starting from February 1, 2023 (or August 1, 2023 for products manufactured or imported before February 1, 2023).

Recommendations from Bureau Veritas:
The recycle sorting info required to print on the package has wide variety of components and designs, which creates various unnecessary guesses for both brands and suppliers. You are recommended to consult with a professional body to ensure your products’ packaging fulfill this mandatory requirements when importing to France.
