Many of the latest releases adopt photoelectric sensors that can pick up slow smoldering flames in every direction. Most send alarm signals at least 85dB. Several products adhere to EN 14604, GB4715 and UL 217.

    The RCS420-2 model from Aboel utilizes a photoelectric sensor for omnidirectional smoke detection. The EN 14604 and CE-certified unit can be mounted on the ceiling or wall and produces an 85dB alarm. It has a static and alarm current of 10μA and 20 to 50mA, respectively. The 110x25mm product runs on a 9VDC alkaline battery and features a low-battery indicator. OEM orders are accepted.

    Aboel also offers the wireless RC421-WL-1 model with a maximum range of 50m. The unit incorporates a 433.92MHz RF transmitter and receiver, and has a two-tone green-and-red LED display. The smoke detector likewise adopts a photoelectric sensor and sounds off an 85dB alarm. It operates via a 9VDC alkaline battery, features a low-power indicator and measures 110x25mm. The product meets CE and EN 14604 standards.

    Shenzhen Cian Electronics Co. Ltd
    The smoke sensitivity of Shenzhen Cian's HC-84-1-1-1-1-1 model meets GB4715 and UL 217 standards. The ceiling-mount smoke detector uses an optical maze photoelectric sensor and an energy-efficient CMOS microprocessor, and makes an 85dB signal. Both wired and wireless versions are available. The latter has a frequency of 315 or 433MHz with a maximum range of 50m. Wired units have a static current of 10µA and an alarm current of 10 to 30mA.The 108x38mm product is moisture-resistant as well.

    Shenzhen Lingbao's AK-200FC/F603C model features a photoelectric sensor with a heat detector that can be adjusted to 60, 70 and 80 C. A blinking red LED means that the alarm is working and the auto-test button simulates smoke to check if the unit is operating properly. The product has a minimum sound output of 85dB at 3m, and a ≤45mA static and ≤120mA alarm current.

    The OR-S814 model from Shenzhen Orinsong boasts a high-stability optical smoke chamber that is not affected by gusts of wind. The unit comes in a 2, 3 or 4-wire configuration and incorporates a dual-color LED indicator. It also has a high EMI and RFI immunity, and a tamper-resistant switch. Both NO and NC versions are offered.

    Xiamen Vs-Top's model VST-S588R-2 smoke detector adopts a photoelectric sensor with a 3 to 6% obs/m sensitivity range. The unit runs on a 9VDC block battery and makes a ≥85dB alarm. It has a remote testing feature, which can also be activated with using a flashlight. The product resets automatically when smoke clears and is resistant to insects. The model complies with EN 14604, AS 3786, UL 217, CE, BSI and SAI.
