Nike's eyewear subsidiary Nike Vision is set to launch a new line of sunglasses designed exclusively for runners. And according to the company, these are smart sports sunglasses that do not need to be recharged nor do they integrate any electronics.
Instead, Nike Vision developed new materials designed to follow the contours of the wearer's face, wick away sweat and provide good ventilation to reduce fogging.
The lineup will consist of five models, including the high-end Nike Vaporwing and Nike Vaporwing Elite priced at $395. For the models, the company collaborated with Germany-based lens specialist Zeiss Optics to create "vision technology" that allows wearers to focus on a moving target, and accurately identify objects and measure the distance in front of them.
These sunglasses are lightweight but have a sporty and sleek appearance that suit everyday wear. The models will be offered in three styles: matte black frame with speed tint red-flash lens, matte white frame with speed tint silver- to gold-flash lens and matte obsidian frame with standard speed-tint lens.
Nike Visions new line also includes the Nike Tailwind, the Nike Tailwind Swift and the Nike Bandit, ranging from $145 to $165.
The sunglasses will be available for retail at Nike.com this April.
