They have excellent corrosion, water and heat resistance compared to metals and have a long life span similar to ceramics but are less expensive.

Increasingly, 3D printing technology is being tapped in this manufacturing sector, especially for small-batch production. Like conventional techniques, it offers high precision, efficiency and flexibility to specific size and shape requirements. In China, Wenext and Dongguan Keheng are among the many Chinese companies already offering such plastic parts.

Parts that are 3D-printed have a growing global market presence. They are projected to reach a value of $26 billion by 2030, according to SmarTech Analysis.
