The model MCD-20-01 handheld detector from Shenzhen MCD Electronics Co. Ltd features a pole head that senses up to 360 degrees metals as small as a one yuan coin. Its sensitivity is ≥9cm. The unit gives off audio alerts and has an LED indicator. Alarm volume depends on size and conductivity of the detected metal object. The model also has a headphone output.

The detector draws power from a 9V 6F22ND fold battery, and indicates low-battery status. It can also connect to an optional charger. Quiescent current is less than 88mA, while for audio and LED mode, operating current does not exceed 91mA.
