Portable breathalyzer with fuel cell sensor

CATEC Co. Ltd offers model CA20FL-A, a professional-use portable alcohol tester that uses an advanced fuel cell sensor and an electromechanical sensor. This breathalyzer has a three-digit LCD with blue and red backlights, and three LED indicators, with green for ready, orange for low battery and red for error.

Its detection range is 0 to 0.4 percent BAC, 0 to 4g/L (promille) or 0 to 2mg/L BrAC, response time 3 to 22 seconds and accuracy ≤±0.01 percent at 0.1 percent BAC or ≤±0.05mg/L at 0.50mg/L BrAC. Operating and storage temperatures are 5 to 40 C and 0 to 40 C.

This product, which also doubles as a thermometer, requires calibration every six months or after 500 tests. It runs on a 9V alkaline battery. Size is 125x56x24mm and weight without the battery 218g. Warranty coverage is for a year.

South Korea-based CATEC is compliant with ISO 9001:2008. It provides OEM and ODM services.

Analyst’s comment: Globally, the breathalyzer market is forecast to reach $1.362 billion by 2027 from $932.7 million in 2022, according to Market Data Forecast.
