Safety & power on the go: Portable security cameras in wireless charging case

Security cameras are often installed at designated spots indoors or outdoors and left to record anything suspicious. Now, these devices go portable and can stay powered for long – through a wireless charging case. UK-based Eyeball Cameras’ crowdfunded Eyeball security cameras are the first to come with one.

Eyeball is a set of three 4K UHD cameras that can be brought anywhere and recharged via its 10,000mAh carry case. Each camera works 12 hours on a full charge. They record when triggered by motion, noise and laughter, the last to capture users’ happy moments. The wireless charging cameras are suitable for traveling, driving, parties, hiking, and other outdoor activities. They can send notifications to mobile phones and emit a panic alarm. Alerts are muted when the owner is at home with the product. The camera auto-detects this situation via the Wi-Fi network where it and the user’s phone is connected. Footages are stored locally or in the cloud.

Eyeball, successfully crowd funded by almost thrice its funding goal and shipping worldwide in October, shows the appeal of a portable security camera to consumers and that wireless charging can be a bigger trend in the product line. It is not hard to imagine charging cases for security cameras going mainstream in the near future like how power cases have been popular in wireless earphones.
