Smart watch pioneer Samsung is not slowing down its new product development, as several new patents related to smart watch designs have popped up in the USPTO. Featuring a square design with rounded edges, the patent does not go far into functionality, but does indicate where Samsung is going with its basic fashion.The company is moving away from a square design to one that is more rounded and aesthetically pleasing.

Nevertheless, the company appears to include a camera mounted in the wristband, along with a potential sensor (perhaps an NFC chip). In addition, the patent application does specify that the smart watch will use gesture controls and, if it uses Android Wear, will also have the ability to recognize voice controls.

If this particular design comes to market, Samsung is poised to flood the market with new designs, as the company has already released two generations of smart watches and a third is expected in September.
