Samsung's Galaxy Note9 promotes productivity with massive storage capacity

Many years ago, many people rely on bulky desktop computers and laptops in order to get work done. This is because these machines can process a large amount of data in only a matter of seconds or minutes. They also typically come with an adequate internal storage that enables users to save multiple files.

The dawn of the mobile era, however, has changed things. Smartphones are rapidly becoming more powerful these days. A growing number of people are already doing work on smartphones and
tablets, as the use of these devices highlight portability, making it easy to move files from one place to another.

Smartphone maker Samsung is well aware of this phenomenon, and has since released a new flagship handset that could help people be more productive on their mobile phones: the the Galaxy Note9. The handset is the company’s largest model to date, adopting a 6.4in screen. It does not have a notch compared to many other phones, but Samsung has managed to create a display with minimal bezels and borders.

The unit runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor with 6 or 8GB of RAM. Its 12+12MP rear cameras can recognize objects being photographed and adjusts automatically for the best result. It is powered by a 4,000mAh battery that Samsung claims can provide an all-day battery life.

What’s truly noteworthy about the device, however, is its internal storage options. The Note9 comes in two configurations--a 128GB model, which goes for $999.99, and a 512GB variant priced at $1,249.99. It doesn’t end there, however. The handset also comes with a microSD card slot and can accommodate up to 512GB. This pushes the device’s storage capacity up to 1TB, creating the possibility to store more videos, images, songs and documents on the phone without needing to delete anything. Of course, this will still come at a price, as a 512GB microSD card is still costly.

The Note9 also comes with the S Pen stylus, which not only can be used for note-taking, but can now also be used to control the phone camera remotely via Bluetooth. App developers can also program the pen’s button to work with their apps.

With the growing number of people using their mobile devices to do work, it’s not far until this trend of smartphones with massive internal storage will truly catch on. Moreover, microSD cards are eventually becoming cheaper over time, making it even more convenient for users to store more data on their handsets. Volume buyers of smartphones can also expect the same trend, and this will become profitable as users prioritize mobility when it comes to productivity.
