In Poland, the latest technology is helping change the consumers' buying habits, Euromonitor International reports. Currently, there has been a surge in demand for consumer electronics in the country. In response to this, leading manufacturers of toys and games are attempting to reinvent their models, adopting electronic features and accessories.
The year 2015 also saw a variety of remote-controlled, scientific, educational and developmental toys. Models designed specifically for preschoolers and infants were also prevalent.
On the other hand, the traditional toys and games industry in Poland is predicted to reach CAGR of 4 percent throughout 2020, with wide distribution being the driving force to increase sales. Licensed models also helped boost income with Disney being one of the most popular licenses for plush toys.
In terms of brands, international brands are dominating with Mattel Poland, LEGO and Hasbro in the lead with 32 percent of the total value sales. Meanwhile, domestic manufacturers are not lagging too far behind with Trefl placing fourth in the ranking. Toys "R" Us and Smyk are engaging in private label traditional toys, which are mostly mid-prices and of good quality.
Overall, Poland's toys and games industry is fragmented, though some leaders have gone into corporate actions such as mergers and acquisitions. Buyers can take note that construction toys, games, puzzles, crafts, and scientific toys are expected to be the most dynamic categories of the industry in the country.
