Sensual styles lead spring 2017 wedding dress trends

Veering away from last year's long-sleeved pieces and masculine pants, spring 2017 is for the sexy and unconventional. Fashion trends website Fashionista.com has identified the styles that will dominate wedding dresses in the upcoming season.

Sheer details from cut-out modesty panels to full-on see-through tops and dresses, as well as plunging necklines that bring out one's sensuality are expected to flourish. Underwear styles such as corsetry will also be popular.

Lace, a bridal mainstay, is predicted to retain its prominence but this time with a laid-back Coachella aesthetic. Skin-baring off-shoulder designs are also among the anticipated highlights this spring.

Trains and veils, meanwhile, are the classic elements that are foreseen to stay. These will be accented with embroidery, lace, beads and Swarovski crystals. Capes will be among the glamorous additions.

Detachable tulles that make movement easier, especially for the couple's first dance, are likewise going to be popular inclusions. Maxi dress styles will also be prevalent for all those wedding-related occasions, except perhaps for the actual ceremony.

As regards color, pink is foreseen to replace white pastel blue and lilac as the top non-white option this season.
