Sharp Corp. has unveiled RoBoHon, an interactive robot that functions as a smartphone.

RoBoHon, a portmanteau of “robot” and “phone,” responds to voice commands and performs actions such as walking or dancing. An LCD touchscreen is incorporated on its back for other tasks such as answering a call or sending an e-mail. Like an office assistant, the robot can store reminders or snap a photo with its built-in camera. It also has a mini projector and a microphone. The 19.5cm tall robot is portable, weighing only 390g. RoBoHon is scheduled to go on sale in 2016.

Sharp was founded in 1912. The company manufactures LED screens, smartphones, TVs and other electronic products worldwide.
