Simple, functional wooden furniture from Vietnam on the rise

Suppliers use various types of timber to create pieces for modern and contemporary-style interiors and exteriors.

Recent releases of wooden furniture makers in Vietnam are characterized by simple structures, clean lines and minimal embellishments to fit modern and contemporary home interiors and exteriors. Besides being in line with buyers' preferences, offering simple designs allows suppliers to focus on enhancing the durability of their models and reduce production lead time.

Tables and chairs for various living areas, for instance, are fitted with slim frames and legs. Cabinets, bed frames, vanities and bureaus have minimal embellishments or are devoid of carvings and other intricate details.

Suppliers are also releasing more multifunction pieces as living spaces become smaller. Sectional sofa sets that can be arranged in various ways to provide different seating options are among those being added to their selections. Dining sets include upholstered benches that can be used as additional seating or an accent piece in the living room or bedroom. For patios, gardens and other outdoor areas, foldable structures are on trend.

Many companies combine wood with metal, glass or another material to achieve the slim forms and sleek lines typical in modern and contemporary furniture. Among the types of timber usually adopted are acacia, oak, rubberwood, pine and eucalyptus.
