No New Folk Studio's Orphe model has customizable lighting system and audio-visual controller

The Orphe model is a pair of smart LED shoes developed by No New Folk Studio. The model is designed for dancers and artists with its customizable lighting system and audio-visual controller. Each shoe adopts a small circuit board that includes an ARM Cortex-M3 microprocessor, InvenSense MPU-9150 9-axis sensor and a Bluetooth module. It also has a charging circuit. The outsole is surrounded by an LED band in bright light.

The shoes work with a smartphone app. The soles’ sensors can detect the shoes’ movements real time. Data collected can be used to store performance elements, which can later be uploaded and transferred to other users.

No New Folk is a Japanese startup formed in 2014.
